Sticker & Sunstrip Application Guide

All Obsessed Brand UK stickers are made using premium vinyl, precision-cut on our Graphtec cutters, and topped with easy-apply transfer tape for a clean install every time. To get the best results and longest life out of your decals, follow the steps below carefully.

Vinyl Sticker Application

1. Prep the surface

• Thoroughly clean and dry the area with IPA (isopropyl rubbing alcohol).

• Do not use wax-based products, detailing sprays, or sealants — vinyl will not stick properly to treated surfaces.

• Make sure the surface is completely dry before moving on.

2. Transfer the decal

• Slowly peel the backing paper away from the transfer tape at a sharp angle.

• If parts of the decal don’t lift, rub the tape firmly with a flat object (credit card works well) until it does.

3. Apply & smooth out

• Position the decal where you want it.

• Firmly press it down, running a card over the surface to push out any bubbles.

4. Remove the tape

• Leave the decal for 10–20 minutes to adhere.

• Carefully peel away the transfer tape at a sharp angle.

• If any part of the decal lifts, press it back down with your card and peel again slowly.

Sunstrip Application (Universal Fit)

Our sunstrips are universal size and require trimming once fitted.
All air release sunstrips must be applied dry — never wet apply.

DRY INSTALL METHOD

STEP 1 – Prep the windscreen (most important!)

• Clean thoroughly with IPA and a clean microfiber cloth.

• Remove all wax, Rain-X, glass sealants, or residues — they stop vinyl from sticking.

• Do not use household glass cleaners (often ammonia-based).

• Make sure the surface is 100% dry before moving on. Use a hairdryer/heat gun if needed.

STEP 2 – Measure twice, fit once

• Offer the sunstrip up to the glass and secure with masking tape.

• Use a tape measure and symmetrical points for perfect placement.

• Create a vertical tape “hinge” down the middle.

STEP 3 – Apply one side

• Peel the backing paper away up to the center hinge.

• Cut the backing neatly with scissors (don’t tear).

• Hold the vinyl taut and get ready to apply.

STEP 4 – Squeegee time

• Using a felt squeegee, press the vinyl from the center outwards.

• Apply firm pressure and work out bubbles as you go.

• If needed, gently lift and re-apply to remove creases.

• Air release vinyl is forgiving — bubbles can be pushed out.

STEP 5 – Repeat for the other side

• Remove the hinge tape, peel the remaining backing, and apply as before.

STEP 6 – Trim safely

• Squeegee right up to the glass edges.

• Trim excess carefully with a sharp craft knife — avoid seals or paint.

• Remove the protective transfer tape if present.

Helpful Tips

• Apply in cool, dry conditions — not too hot, not too cold (below 10°C for standard vinyl / below 15°C for special effects vinyl will cause failures).

• Take your time — decals are not reusable once applied.

• Store decals flat before use, smooth them out with a card if needed.

• Adhesive takes 48–72 hours to fully cure. Avoid jet washing, harsh scrubbing, or high-pressure cleaning during this time.

• When cleaning long-term, avoid excessive force directly on the decal edges.

• Orders are usually packed and shipped within 1–5 working days.

• Personalised orders may take up to 10 working days.

• During busy periods, dispatch times may be longer.

We use Royal Mail 1st Class and 2nd Class services:

• 1st Class: 1–3 working days (not guaranteed)

Delivery times vary depending on the destination:

• Europe: usually 5–7 working days

• Rest of the world (Zones 1 & 2): 3–4 weeks

Address Information

• Please ensure your delivery address is complete and correct.

• Mistakes in the address may result in your order not being delivered.

Delivery Issues

• We receive proof of delivery for every order.

• If Royal Mail attempts delivery and you miss it, your parcel will be held at your local sorting office. It is your responsibility to collect or arrange re-delivery.

• If Royal Mail loses your parcel, you will need to open a claim with them — but please keep in touch with us so we can assist.

For international orders, please contact us if your parcel hasn’t arrived within 4 weeks.

Our shipping prices are based on official Royal Mail rates, calculated by size and weight. We keep our prices as competitive as possible to ensure great value for a reliable service.

Returns & Refunds Policy

We want you to love your purchase, but if something isn’t right, here’s how our returns work.

Return Window

• You have 28 days from the purchase date to return your item.

• After 28 days, we cannot offer a refund or exchange.

Eligibility

To qualify for a return, your item must:

• Be unused, unworn, and unwashed.

• Be in the same condition as received, with original packaging and tags.

• Be free from stains, fibres, pet/human hair, holes, tears, or strong odours (smoke, perfume, etc.).

• Not be a personalised or made-to-order product (unless an error was made on our end).

Clothing: Must be complete with tags and in re-sellable condition.
Stickers: Backing must be intact and unused.

Faulty or Incorrect Items

If your order arrives faulty or incorrect, you must notify us within 48 hours by emailing clvinyldesigns@hotmail.com with evidence (photos).

• We will replace the item free of charge.

• We will cover the return postage costs.

Refunds

• Approved returns will be refunded once received and inspected.

• Partial refunds may apply if:

  • The item is not in original condition.

  • The item is damaged or missing parts not due to our error.

  • The item is returned more than 30 days after delivery.

Postage

• Customers are responsible for return postage unless the item is faulty or incorrect.

• Always request proof of postage or use recorded delivery. If a return is lost without proof, we cannot process a refund.
