    STICKER GUIDE

     

    All of our stickers are made using highest quality vinyl and cut using our top of the range Graphtec cutter to ensure the best quality is achieved and topped with our easy apply paper transfer tape. 

    Vinyl stickers require careful application and aftercare to make sure they last as long as possible and for you to get the most out of our products.

     Application of vinyl

    1. Completely clean and dry the surface area using IPA ( rubbing alcohol). We advice you not to use wax based products or if you've used any kind of sealant on the surface area the decal will not stick. Make sure surface area is completely dry.
    2. Carefully peel the backing paper away from the transfer tape at a sharp angle. (If the decal does not stick to the tape try rubbing it on a flat surface with a flat object I.E a credit card.)
    3. Align the decal and press it onto the desired surface. Firmly run a credit card across the transfer tape making sure the decal adheres to the surface. (look out for any air bubbles and flatten them out using the card.)
    4. Please allow 10-20 miniutes for the vinyl to adhere to the surface then slowly peel away the transfer tape from the top of the decal. If any part of the decal starts to come up with the tape, rub over that part of the decal with the card and try to peel the tape again.

     

    All sun strips are universal size then they will need to be trimmed once on the vehicle. 

    All air release sunstrips should be applied dry. do not wet apply. 

    Clean the application area with alcohol. Because glass is porous, glass should be cleaned several times, especially if rainex or wax has ever been used. 

      

    DRY SUNSTRIP INSTALLATION METHOD 

    STEP 1

    WINDSCREEN PREP (THE MOST IMPORTANT PART)

    The first step is to prepare the windscreen so that no dirt, dust, grease or residue remains. Be sure to completely remove any waxes, gloss protectors or enhancers before you install, as these will all prevent adhesion to the surface. We strongly recommend using a clean microfibre cloth and isopropyl rubbing alcohol to prep glass surfaces. If you’re at a pinch then soap and hot water can be used (be sure to rinse the surface thoroughly after with clean water, if you do not clean it off adequately you will leave a layer of soap residue that will affect adhesion). Do not use any dedicated glass cleaners as most of these are ammonia-based and leave a slick coating on the surface, causing the decal to peel, and will out-gas causing bubbles.

    Ensure the surface is completely dry before continuing to step 2, even if that means heating the glass with a hairdryer/heat gun or leaving to dry in the sun for a few minutes.

    STEP 2

    MEASURE TWICE, FIT ONCE

    Offer up the sunstrip to the glass, position and secure with masking tape. If you’re after perfect placement then a tape measure is your friend, measure and then measure again! Try to use key points on the windscreen that are symmetrical either side as guides to ensure you get the sunstrip level and centered.

    Once you’re happy with your placement, go ahead and create a ‘hinge’ point vertically down the center of the sunstrip using masking tape.

    STEP 3

    ONE SIDE AT A TIME!

    Peel the backing paper off one side, up to the center hinge point. Cut off the paper (DO NOT TEAR as this will leave paper particles that can get stuck or trapped under the vinyl and will create an irremovable air pocket, scissors are advised) near the hinge point. You’re now ready to apply one side.

    STEP 4

    SQUEEGEE TIME

    Felt squeegee the banner to the glass working from the centre hinge point outwards, applying reasonable pressure. If you get any air bubbles or creases, lift the vinyl up slightly and try again. Squeegee to the top and edge of the screen but don’t trim any excess yet. If you are using the AIR RELEASE apply vinyl this can be very forgiving when removing any creases, air bubbles can be easily worked out of the vinyl.

    This process is possible to achieve by yourself, just take your time. Otherwise we do recommend getting a friend to help you. In this instance, one holding the vinyl taught with both hands, the other using the squeegee to apply to the windscreen. Patience is key for best results.

    STEP 5

    REPEAT FOR THE OTHER SIDE

    Now repeat the previous step for the other side. You’ll need to move the taped hinge point, remove the final half of backing paper and apply working center outwards.

    STEP 6

    TRIM, SAFETY FIRST!

    Before proceeding with this step, ensure you’ve squeegee’d the vinyl as much as possible up to the edge of the glass. Use a sharp craft knife to trim the excess vinyl at the edge, being careful not to cut yourself, or any rubber seals on the edge of your windscreen.

    If there is application tape on the graphic (used to protect it in transit) this can now be removed by peeling it off at a right angle or parallel to the surface.

     

     

    HELPFUL TIPS

    • DO NOT apply to hot or very cold surfaces (less than 10 degrees for normal vinyl and less than 15 degrees for special effects) AS THIS WILL CAUSE THE APPLICATION TO FAIL AS THE VINYL WILL NOT ADHERE CORRECTLY. 
    • Measure your space before applying.
    • Decals are NOT re-usable once applied. Apply with care and patience.
    • After removing decal from packaging, lay flat and smooth out with a flat object i.e credit card.
    • Adhesive  takes 48-72 hours to fully adhere.
    • When cleaning take care to not apply too much force to decal, e.g jet washing as this could cause the decal to lift from the surface or come off completely.

    SHIPPING GUIDE

     

    To begin with, we ship worldwide, dependant on location the delivery time and cost will differ.

    We use the Royal Mail service for all deliveries via UK 1st Class and 2nd class system. We will always aim to pack and dispatch your order from us within 1 - 5 working days but please allow up to 10 for personalised orders. During busy piriods this could be longer. Please message us before placing your order if you need the items with a quick turn around so we can update you with our current dispatch times. For the UK, 1st class usually gives a 1-3 working day delivery time. 2nd Class gives a 2-5 day delivery time. Both of these are not guaranteed and we are not to be held responsible for a delay in delivery but if you still have not received your delivery within 10 working days please contact us.

    PLEASE NOTE. That dispatch times are different to shipping times. When selecting the postage this is shipping times with Royal Mail or DPD and not our dispatch times. 

    Please note that Saturdays and Sundays are not regarded as working days by Royal Mail. International delivery can vary from five to seven working days to Europe and three to four weeks to Zone 1 and 2. Customer is fully responsible to pay any VAT, import cost, clearing fees. We the seller are only responsible for shipping the product. You the customer are responsible for paying any import cost such as VAT, duties, and clearing fees, upon delivery. 

    It's worth noting that if you do not give us a complete delivery address or make a mistake when inputting the address through our system, you will most likely not receive your parcel. If you have made a mistake, please make sure to E-Mail us ASAP so we can rectify the mistake and get your order sent out.

    Our shipping prices are solely based on the Royal Mail published prices, calculated by size and weight although they are very competitive against other delivery companies so rest assured you’re getting the best possible value for a comprehensive service.

    What happens if my order hasn't arrived?

    If you're in the UK and your order hasn't arrived within 10 days, please send us an email bringing this to our attention and we will do our best to solve the issue. Leaving it longer than this makes it harder to resolve but we will try our best to resolve every situation.

    We receive proof of delivery on each order that we send out. If we discover that Royal Mail has attempted and failed delivery, the parcel will be held at your local sorting office. This is then your responsibility to collect or arrange a re-delivery using their system.

    If the goods are lost by Royal Mail, you will need to open a claim against them, but please keep in touch with us so that we can help to resolve this.

    For outside the UK, circumstances can vary and parcels can take a little longer, so please contact us within 4 weeks if your parcel hasn't arrived.

    RETURNS & REFUNDS


    Returns

    All products purchased from CL Vinyl Design in any case, must be returned within 28 days of the original purchase date.

    If 28 days have passed since your purchase, we can not offer you a refund.


    When you post the item, please make sure you receive proof of postage.

    To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

    Returns are only eligible if your item meets the following conditions:

    Clothing: The item of clothing must be complete with tags and be in a condition for us to resell.

    This means the item must be unworn and not have been washed in any way.

    Furthermore we cannot accept returns if the item returned has stains, fibres and/or animal/human hair,

    It is not a personalised/made to order items. Unless a mistake is made our end we will not offer a refund or remake on personalised items.

    The item must have no holes, tears, or rips, and must not have any strong odours such as smoke or perfume.

    Products must be returned in their original condition and packaging with all included items.

    You are responsible for the cost of the return shipment.

    If the item is a sticker, the backing must NOT be peeled off or used in any way. We must be able to resell any product that is returned.

    We will need evidence of the faulty item so that we can investigate how / why the issue happened and how to prevent any future occurrence. We will reimburse the postage cost of the return.

    - All heat transfer store items come with a eight-week warranty. This eight-week warranty begins the day of purchase. Once an item is outside of this window we will not take any action to replace or exchange the item. 

    There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted (if applicable)
    - Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error
    - Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery

    When returning an item to us, ask for proof of postage or opt for recorded delivery.

    This way you’ll be able to track the item and if it goes missing you’ll have proof of delivery. If the item goes missing without this, we will not be able to offer you a refund.

    We do not and will not replace or refund any items that have been used, and / or damaged. This includes rips, stains, and anything that would prevent resale.

    If you are returning a product that is a result of a mistake made by CL Vinyl Design, such as us sending the incorrect sizing or wrong item, the postage cost for an exchange is ours.
